This is undoubtedly a step up from the potato version, though it felt a bit smaller. The nacho cheese is at its processed best here, and it reminds me of ballpark nachos without the mess.
Let’s be honest, the egg doesn’t taste like much, but that’s OK. In my opinion, egg is the worst part of any breakfast burrito.
The cheese and sausage which I think are Taco Bell’s top two breakfast ingredients really get a chance to shine here. This burrito doesn’t have pico, and I don’t really miss it because of how well-seasoned all of the ingredients are.
Although this burrito is a bit small, it’s a solid choice and I wouldn’t mind ordering more of them. The only thing holding it back is a lack of hash browns, which all the best Taco Bell dishes have.
Am Crunchwrap With Bacon
This A.M. Crunchwrap delivers a smoky, salty kick that sets it apart from its siblings. The crisp hash brown and occasionally crisp pieces of bacon work well with the chewy grilled flour tortilla, and the jalapeño cream sauce delivers some extra spice to keep things from getting to monotonous.
Again, its all about personal preference with these Crunchwraps. Its like a choose-your-own-adventure book, except you get to choose between bacon, sausage, or steak, which is obviously way better than any of the endings in those lousy books.
And yes, it was really difficult to get those Crunchwraps to stand up that way.

Out and about running some errands on a recent day off, I was in need of some breakfast and noticed a Taco Bell conveniently nearby. Id seen the Breakfast Crunchwrap commercials so here was an opportunity to give one a try.
Humorous, but does the Breakfast Crunchwrap live up to the Taco Bell hype?
Yes, and then some!
Costing me just over $3, Im giving the Taco Bell Sausage Crunchwrap 4 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars. Its a convenient breakfast eat, a clean eat while driving and most importantly, a very tasty Breakfast eat!

Breakfast Crunchwrap With Sausage $389
Taco Bell sausage is where it’s at. It was just the right amount of greasy, and the mellow flavor went really well with the cheese. This hash brown had the right amount of crispiness, too.
The flavors of this Crunchwrap kind of brought me back to my elementary-school lunchroom days in a nostalgic way. Maybe I should have asked for a Styrofoam plate to really bring the experience full-circle.
This was the best Crunchwrap. It didn’t try to be too fancy, and the sausage highlighted all the other ingredients.
That said, cheese, tortilla, potato, and sausage is a fantastic combination but can get a little one-note. I suggest adding some hot sauce or breakfast salsa to this one for an extra kick.

If you aren’t a fan of Taco Bell bacon, then you run the risk of missing out on some of the more subtle qualities of this dish.
I really enjoyed the hash brown inside of the tortilla, and it was the main thing that makes this better than the grande toasted for me.
The breakfast Crunchwrap is pretty simple, just cheese, eggs, bacon, and hash brown in a tortilla.
According to the menu, this has a creamy jalapeno sauce, but I’m not convinced it was actually there. If it was, it was very understated and not spicy.
Fiesta Potato Grilled Breakfast Burrito
Now this is… good.
The potatoes are more satisfying and flavorful than both meat options. It’s filling and rich without being heavy or too much to handle. The egg-potato-cheese ratio is spot on and the pico de gallo works well in this context, adding some pops of juicy tomato to the savory, starchy mix.

Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burrito With Potato $159
Is there such a thing as too much starch? Yes. This meal is pretty filling, but not very fulfilling.
The pico didn’t really help flavor this much since it was buried at the bottom of the burrito, and even the mighty Taco Bell nacho cheese wasn’t enough to save this one.
The eggs didn’t add much to this burrito, either. To be fair, I don’t think any eatery gets eggs right. They’re such a personal menu item, and chain-restaurant breakfast is such an impersonal thing but that makes having tasty spuds extra important.
If the potatoes had been seasoned better, the cheesy toasted breakfast burrito probably would have been higher on the list, and that disappoints me.
Without well-seasoned ingredients, this burrito hit me with the same, plain potato flavors in each bite.

Though I already had a donut for breakfast, I found myself craving a breakfast burrito. When I drove by Taco Bell, my conscience said, Don’t do it, Isla. You don’t need the extra calories. And if you’re going to get a breakfast burrito, get it from a small business, not Taco Bell.
I ignored my conscience, pulled up to the drive-thru, and ordered myself a Hash Brown Toasted Breakfast Burrito Steak. I shouldn’t have, but the Taco Bell was right there, and the burrito only cost about 3 bucks.
I never had a breakfast burrito from Taco Bell before, so I wasn’t sure if I would like it. Maybe it would be awful, and that would serve me right for not getting my breakfast from a small business.
I took a bite…
And admittedly, I enjoyed it.
Though I didn’t get any steak in my first bite, I thought that the combination of hash brown, egg, and cheese was really tasty. This might be blasphemous of me to say, but I think Taco Bell’s hash browns are just as good as the place with the golden arches. Taco Bell’s hash browns were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just pretty darn good.
The first bite was so good that I would’ve been satisfied with a burrito that just contained hash browns, egg, cheese, and no meat.
And honestly, I should’ve gotten a meatless burrito.
I guess shame on me for expecting steak from Taco Bell to be decent, but the steak was not good. It was tough, dry, and way too salty.
