Before I met Don, I had never had . If my family ate steak, it was usually Sirloin or New York Strip Steaks. And that was very rare since our budget did not allow a lot of steak. Dons Marinated Flank Steak quickly became my all-time favorite steakalthough I must admit, I still love the NY Strip Steak and a good Porterhouse.

This steak is a good choice if you are watching your calories. It is low in fat, very tender and scrumptious! Don is a terrific grillmaster, but making flank steak is even easy enough for me to do. If you dont want to whip that together you could make a pared-down version by adding ¼ cup pineapple juice instead of the amount of water listed to make the slurry. Making the slurry with the cornstarch and pineapple will give you a definite Hawaiian feeling!

Stir Fry Teriyaki Marinade Use the exact same recipe except dont add the slurry to the sauce right away. You can marinate the meat in a small amount of the marinade minus the slurry for a minimum of 30 minutes. Then Youll Saute/Stir fry your vegetables and meats then add the rest of the marinade and cook until its just about ready. Right before serving it, youll add the slurry to thicken up the marinade.

  • cup orange marmalade

  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steak
  • 1 summer squash, cut into 1-inch pieces*
  • 1 medium red or green bell pepper, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
  • Step 1

    Cut beef steak into 1-1/4 inch pieces. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl, stirring well. Reserve 2 tablespoons marinade. Place half of remaining marinade and beef in food safe plastic bag turn to coat. Place remaining marinade, squash and bell pepper in another food-safe plastic bag. Close bags securely refrigerate 30 minutes to 2 hours, turning occasionally.

  • Step 2

    Remove beef and vegetables from marinade discard marinade. Alternately thread beef and vegetables evenly onto four 15-inch metal skewers.

  • Step 3

    Place kabobs on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally and brushing kabobs generously with reserved 2 tablespoons of marinade.

Everyone needs a fabulous Teriyaki Marinade recipe in their cooking life. I dont like to always use the words The BEST when it comes to a recipe, because that gets boring when you see it over and over and over from every food blogger out there, but there are about ten times on this website that I have. When I do, let me assure you, the recipe is always the best that I have ever tasted! With that said, this actually is THE BEST Teriyaki Marinade Recipe!

This all came about thanks to my need for a Copy Cat Red Robins Teriyaki Chicken Burger. I actually hadnt tried the burger, I was just craving a chicken teriyaki burger and remembered seeing it on the menu one time.

Then I realized that I dont actually have a tried and true teriyaki marinade recipe. Bear with me, my children are just venturing into the land of normal eating, so teriyaki marinade isnt really something I worried about before.

Thanks to the burger however, I now have an excellent teriyaki marinade that I will use time and time again!

Those are my chicken burgers marinading for the burgers, which by the way ARE AMAZING! I pounded them flat, marinated them and wowza. You could have eaten these plain without turning them into a burger. Holy Dinah you guys, these babies were the best burgers I ate all summer. Even my son ate them and couldnt stop telling me how awesome they were.

In the meat aisle, youre faced with a ton of beef options. But not all of them are right for making jerky.

When youre making beef jerky, the leaner your cut, the better. Cuts like top round, bottom round, eye of round and sirloin tip are among the best cuts you can choose.

We also recommend buying your beef in bulk to save money. Youll lose around of your starting weight during the drying process, so if you want to make a pound of jerky, buy 3 pounds of beef.

For our Kikkoman teriyaki beef jerky, we used one pound of sirloin tip. We bought ours thinly pre-sliced, which saves time and energy, but you can purchase whole cuts to save a bit of money!
