McCormick grill mates Montreal steak seasoning is the secret ingredient in my latest grilled meal.

The seasoning is a combination of coarsely ground peppers, garlic and spices for bolder tasting steaks and burgers.

I combined the spice rub with red pepper flakes for some heat and brown sugar to give it a sweet hint of flavor, too.

It made a super tasting meal and both hubby and I loved it.

This Montreal steak seasoning recipe has a sweet and spicy rub made from Grill Mates that is sure to delight your friends.

Even better, it is simple and easy to prepare. Team the recipe with grilled corn in their husks and you have a crowd pleasing meal.

At our house we grill every Saturday night. Hubby is the grill master and Im the one who comes up with the recipes for him to try.

This Montreal steak recipe gives me a sort of night off from cooking, since all I have to do is put the meal together in my head and not on the stove!

My favorite seasoning mix is McCormicks montreal steak seasoning mix. I use it often for many things. So, when I saw a dip using the seasoning mix, I was thrilled to make it. This montreal steak seasoning dip is delicious.

The dip is made using sour cream along with the seasoning mix. Then you also add in some garlic powder and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Then it just needs a little time to sit in the fridge ofr those seasonings to all marry with each other.

This dip is so flavorful. It is delicious with chips or veggies. However, I really like it with vegetables.

  • Total Time:2 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield:2 cups1x
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp McCormicks Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic poweder
  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together.

    Seasoning Steak

    This is super simple, olive oil, water, red wine vinegar, and Canadian/Montreal Steak® seasoning..

    Mix them together in a large bowl, or a large zipper top plastic bag. Add your steak , flip them to coat..

    Let them hang out on the counter for 30 minutes or so until the steaks are room temperature.

    While your steaks are marinating, turn your grill on to HIGH heat.

    Place your steaks over direct heat and cook for 4 to 5 minutes to sear. Flip them over and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare*, or 5 to 7 minutes for medium*..

    If you cook your steaks longer than that, we can no longer be friends. Remove from the grill, loosely cover with foil, and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving..

    Notes:

    • *cooking time are approximate and based on your steaks being 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick
    • If your steaks are thin sear on each side and pull them off!! Internal temperature should be around 140 to 145.
    • The original recipe calls for red wine vinegar, but I actually prefer balsamic. Use whichever one that you have on hand.
    • The recipe listed below is per pound of steak. Simply multiply based on the total weight of the steaks that you need to marinate.
    • This marinade works with any type of steak.
