Balsamic Steak Salad Recipe
I love a good hearty salad and this steak salad with balsamic dressing is not only filling but ultra flavorful! Beef is one of our favorite proteins over here and I love serving it in a variety of ways.
I usually use leftover steak in this salad but it literally only takes a few minutes to cook a steak up fresh if you need too. Lightly season it with salt and pepper, then pan fry it in butter and oil until its medium-rare on the inside. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing it for the salad.
The easiest way to build this salad is to layer the ingredients over the mixed greens. It looks amazing and its so easy! I usually pour half of the dressing over the steak salad and serve the rest on the side so everyone can have as much as they like.
How To Make This Easy Keto Steak Salad

If theres anything I love, its a cold and crisp salad crowned with the perfect dressing. I like a dressing that isnt too creamy or too oily and one that has a perfect tang to it. Folks, this is that dressing.
Inspired by prime rib steakhouses with a spinning salad , this dressing is everything you could ever want and more! Seriously, my entire family and dinner party guests kept asking for the recipe after.
SO easy to make too!
Heres How I Made It!:
To a blender, add some water
apple cider vinegar
and a few dashes of hot sauce, if you want a slight and mild kick.
Secure the blender lid
Then, pour in some vegetable oil through the blender lids opening
as you continue to blend.
When done, transfer the dressing to a container or jar.
Put a lid on it and pop in the fridge for a few hours until nice and chilled.
Then, create a nice large salad of your choice.
Pour the dressing over it
toss that salad up with the dressing
place that beautiful salad on the table to serve
and plate some up.
Have a lovely salad aficionado try it and look really classy while doing so.
Watch them react as the dressing splashes within their mouth.

Pin Balsamic Steak Salad
Sometimes I try to disguise really healthy things as not-so-healthy things so that the hubster will eat them. You guys know I do this since weve eaten strange things like paleo breakfast avocado cookies and buffalo chicken dip with cauliflower.
And, that is what I did with this salad I just had to tell him it had steak, cheese and fried things, and he was happy to eat it even though it had lettuce.
I just didnt tell him that these things were really just more veggies, that the friedpart was really just a little bit of heart-healthy olive oil
This is a salad that he actually enjoys. If you recall I told you that he generally isnt thrilled to eat meals where the components are 90% from the earth. He prefers to eat coffee rubbed steak, keto steak or garlic steak and potatoes foil packets.
You can take the man out of Nebraska, but cant take the Nebraska out of the man I suppose.
Anyway, I try to just eat them on days where he is out doing whatever men do.
I really dont want to know what that is I might add.

The Best Steak Salad With Homemade Dressing
If you live in Texas, chances are youve been to Saltgrass Steakhouse. Its one of the best steakhouses down here that gives you the biggest bang for your buck! The first time I had the pleasure of dining there, I ordered a hearty dinner salad with juicy steak, all sorts of veggies, nuts and gorgonzola cheese, plus a flavorful balsamic vinaigrette to tie it all together.
This recipe is my own homemade version of that salad, and in a perfect world I would eat it every single day. It combines fresh ingredients and sumptuous steak into one 30-minute masterpiece. Tips For This Easy Steak Salad Recipe
- Season the steak well with just salt. Salt is enough. Of course you can add seasoning of your choice, but there is no need to. Use oil with higher burning point like avocado or grape seed oil. This way you can heat it in a pan on the stove top and cook the steak at high temperature. I used a 10 oz Ribeye
- Cook your steak at the time you are making the salad. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting, so it stays juicy and slightly warm.
- Make your vinaigrette dressing in advance. This way you save some time.
- Add veggies of your choice of youd like. Check out your fridge you may have some vegetable youd like to add to the salad, that are not mentioned in the recipe.
Why Youll Love This Steak Salad Recipe

Ok Now Moving On To The Real Stuff
A couple weeks ago I gave you a recipe for how to cook beets in just 15 minutes using your Instant Pot. And can I tell you a secret, Ive literally used that recipe 4 times in the past week and a half. That is how much weve been going through beets lately. Its unreal!
One of the ways Ive been using up those beets, besides just eating them plain, is by trying to replicate one of my favorite Roasted Beet Salads!
You know. The one with the goat cheese, almonds and balsamic dressing on a bed of greens! Except this time I topped it with tender juicy pan seared steak. Because steak makes all things better!
How To Grill The Best Steak
Luckily that is also very easy!
I grill the steak for maximum flavor, but you can also cook it on stove top. The salad is great for lunch or dinner and perfect for entertaining because it is GORGEOUS and simple to make!
- Pick a steak that is at least 3/4 inch thick. The thicker the better!
- Season the steak on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the grill before adding the steak.
- Grill for 6-8 minutes each side on high heat.
- Thats it!

Yogurt Mint Salad Dressing
A bit of garlic and lemon juice, along with plenty of fresh mint, turns plain, unsweetened yogurt into a delicious, healthful salad dressing in a matter of minutes. Toss it with lettuce and cucumber salads, stir it into chicken salad as a lighter alternative to mayonnaise, or use it as a sauce for cold poached salmon.
How To Grill Skirt Steak:
We opted for skirt steak for this grilled steak salad, because this deliciously lean cut of beef cooks quickly on the grill, is usually inexpensive, and is full of flavor! Flank steak, hanger steak or flat iron steak also work well. Skirt steak is a long, thin, and fibrous cut of beef that can achieve a perfect crust on the outside and lovely medium rare on the inside when cooked properly.

How To Make Homemade Creamy Balsamic Dressing
The Homemade Creamy Balsamic Dressing that goes on this salad really brings together all of the flavors and is so easy to make!
To make the Homemade Creamy Balsamic Dressing, add the balsamic glaze, mayo, olive oil, salt and pepper to a bowl and whisk or to a mason jar and shake to combine. Taste to adjust the seasoning to your preference.
If you only have balsamic vinegar, you can sub that for the balsamic glaze, but the salad dressing will not be as thick and creamy as if you use balsamic glaze.

Classic Ranch Dressing And Dip
The Spruce / Abby Mercer
Ranch dressing is not only one of America’s most popular salad dressings, it’s probably the nation’s most popular dips. Mix it up in minutes, combining dairy ingredients and seasonings, and chill well before serving with fresh greens, raw vegetable sticks, or fried chicken wings.
Vegan Tofu Ranch Dressing
Using tofu keeps this vegan ranch dressing much lower in fat and calories than traditional recipes, while retaining a thick and creamy texture. It tastes like mom’s classic ranch-style dressing, but is entirely dairy-free and cholesterol-free. Pour it onto greens, or use it as a dipping sauce for vegan nuggets and tenders.

What Is Flank Steak
Flank steak is from the bottom abdominal area of the cow, so it has a lot of muscle fibers. While skirt steak and flank steak are different cuts, they are interchangeable in this recipe. Flank steak is typically wider and thicker than skirt steak, but they are similar in taste and texture. So if you can only find one at the store- its okay! I can more often find flank steak in the store than skirt steak.
