Balsamic Steak Salad Recipe

Best Steakhouse Salad Dressing

I love a good hearty salad and this steak salad with balsamic dressing is not only filling but ultra flavorful! Beef is one of our favorite proteins over here and I love serving it in a variety of ways.

I usually use leftover steak in this salad but it literally only takes a few minutes to cook a steak up fresh if you need too. Lightly season it with salt and pepper, then pan fry it in butter and oil until its medium-rare on the inside. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing it for the salad.

The easiest way to build this salad is to layer the ingredients over the mixed greens. It looks amazing and its so easy! I usually pour half of the dressing over the steak salad and serve the rest on the side so everyone can have as much as they like.

How To Make This Easy Keto Steak Salad

  • Arrange torn romaine lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, cubed cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, and a sliced avocado in a large salad bowl.
  • Slice the steaks against the grain, into about 1/4 inch thick slices.
  • Layer sliced steak over salad.
  • Pour remaining marinade dressing over salad.
  • Sprinkle with feta/blue/goat cheese and serve.

This meaty main-course salad has loads of flavor and it is a full meal for two. It is a wonderful combination of lean protein and tons of salad veggies that will make you want to add this meal to your weekly meal rotation.

How to Make a Steak Salad with a Secret Dressing Recipe! | Chef Vic Cuisine

Sometimes I try to disguise really healthy things as not-so-healthy things so that the hubster will eat them. You guys know I do this since weve eaten strange things like paleo breakfast avocado cookies and buffalo chicken dip with cauliflower.

And, that is what I did with this salad I just had to tell him it had steak, cheese and fried things, and he was happy to eat it even though it had lettuce.

I just didnt tell him that these things were really just more veggies, that the friedpart was really just a little bit of heart-healthy olive oil

This is a salad that he actually enjoys. If you recall I told you that he generally isnt thrilled to eat meals where the components are 90% from the earth. He prefers to eat coffee rubbed steak, keto steak or garlic steak and potatoes foil packets.

You can take the man out of Nebraska, but cant take the Nebraska out of the man I suppose.

Anyway, I try to just eat them on days where he is out doing whatever men do.

I really dont want to know what that is I might add.

How To Cook Steak

When it comes to steak, youre really only going to prepare it one of two ways: reverse sear or hot and fast.

  • Reverse sear: The reverse sear method is best when cooking thicker steaks. This process requires you to bring the steak up to temperature on a grill or cast iron pan at low heat, and then quickly searing it at high heat to finish it off. This method gives you more control over how the interior of the steak cooks so you can achieve that perfect medium-rare on the inside and beautiful brown crust on the outside.
  • Hot and fast: This requires quickly searing the steak over direct heat, depending on the thickness you may only need to sear for a minute or 2. Then youll want to remove it from direct heat and place it on indirect heat, allowing it to cook internally to your desired doneness.
  • How To Make A Steak Salad

    • Whisk balsamic vinegar, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
    • Gradually add the olive oil and whisk dressing is thickened.
    • Dry the surface of the steak and season with salt and pepper.
    • Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat, add oil.
    • Cook steak for 4 minutes, flip and cook until medium-rare.
    • Rest the steak for 10 minutes and then slice.
    • In a large bowl combine the lettuce.
    • Add tomatoes, cucumber, radish, onion, avocado, cheese, and meat.
    • Serve with balsamic vinaigrette.

    Yogurt Mint Salad Dressing

A bit of garlic and lemon juice, along with plenty of fresh mint, turns plain, unsweetened yogurt into a delicious, healthful salad dressing in a matter of minutes. Toss it with lettuce and cucumber salads, stir it into chicken salad as a lighter alternative to mayonnaise, or use it as a sauce for cold poached salmon.

    How To Grill Skirt Steak:

We opted for skirt steak for this grilled steak salad, because this deliciously lean cut of beef cooks quickly on the grill, is usually inexpensive, and is full of flavor! Flank steak, hanger steak or flat iron steak also work well. Skirt steak is a long, thin, and fibrous cut of beef that can achieve a perfect crust on the outside and lovely medium rare on the inside when cooked properly.

Heres how to grill skirt steak:

  • Get your grill nice and hot.
  • Pat the skirt steak dry and season well with salt and pepper.
  • Lay it on the hot grill and keep a close eye on it. It’ll need about four minutes per side.
  • Remove the steak, cover with foil, and let rest for ten minutes to lock in all those dreamy juices.
  • Slice the skirt steak thinly and against the grain for maximum tenderness.

How To Make Thai Steak Salad

You may want to complete step 1 of this recipe ahead of time as this allow your steak to marinate anywhere from 4 hours to overnight.

  • Create marinade: In a small bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients, except the steak! Pour the marinade into a ziploc bag, place the steak inside and close tightly. Use your hands to lightly toss the bag and gently massage the steak for only a couple minutes. Place in the fridge to marinate for up to 4 hours or overnight the longer it marinates the better!
  • Create dressing: In another small bowl, mix together all of the dressing ingredients and whisk until well incorporated.
  • Grill Grill the steak, using whichever cooking method works best for you. I enjoy a medium-rare steak, so I cooked it for about 7 minutes on each side. When finished let the steak cool for 10 minutes, then cut into slices across the grain.
  • Assemble salad In a large bowl, combine the salad ingredients and give it a little toss. Next, pour the homemade dressing over the salad and toss it again.
  • Serve Arrange salad on a plate or serving dish and top with steak slices. To garnish, sprinkle with peanuts or a herb of your choice, and enjoy!

    Steak Salad

The Homemade Creamy Balsamic Dressing that goes on this salad really brings together all of the flavors and is so easy to make!

To make the Homemade Creamy Balsamic Dressing, add the balsamic glaze, mayo, olive oil, salt and pepper to a bowl and whisk or to a mason jar and shake to combine. Taste to adjust the seasoning to your preference.

If you only have balsamic vinegar, you can sub that for the balsamic glaze, but the salad dressing will not be as thick and creamy as if you use balsamic glaze.

    Classic Ranch Dressing And Dip

    The Spruce / Abby Mercer

Ranch dressing is not only one of America’s most popular salad dressings, it’s probably the nation’s most popular dips. Mix it up in minutes, combining dairy ingredients and seasonings, and chill well before serving with fresh greens, raw vegetable sticks, or fried chicken wings.

    Vegan Tofu Ranch Dressing

Using tofu keeps this vegan ranch dressing much lower in fat and calories than traditional recipes, while retaining a thick and creamy texture. It tastes like mom’s classic ranch-style dressing, but is entirely dairy-free and cholesterol-free. Pour it onto greens, or use it as a dipping sauce for vegan nuggets and tenders.

    What Is Flank Steak

Flank steak is from the bottom abdominal area of the cow, so it has a lot of muscle fibers. While skirt steak and flank steak are different cuts, they are interchangeable in this recipe. Flank steak is typically wider and thicker than skirt steak, but they are similar in taste and texture. So if you can only find one at the store- its okay! I can more often find flank steak in the store than skirt steak.
