The Real Reason You Should Never Buy Meat At Aldi

Gefüllte Steaks à la minute mit Spargel | Rezept der Woche | ALDI Nord

Supermarket giant Aldi has been a reliably affordable grocery option for fans for over 40 years. As per Aldi’s official website, its founders believed that “great quality shouldn’t come at a high price”. The first Aldi store, located in Germany, opened in 1961. Since then, Aldi has expanded gradually, and now has over 2,000 stores in the United States alone spread across 36 states. The brand’s focus is to prioritize the needs of their customers and ensure that they have access to high-quality products at affordable prices. How do they accomplish this? The Aldi website states, “We carry the weekly must-haves and display them in their designed shipping boxes to help save time and resources to restock shelves. Shoppers will find more than 90 percent of the groceries we offer are under our Aldi exclusive brands, hand-selected by Aldi to ensure that our products meet or exceed the national brands on taste, quality and, of course, price.”

It’s undeniable that Aldi does extremely well in terms of overall quality and low prices. With that said, when it comes to meat, while Aldi is not necessarily bad, you may want to check out other options.

Aldis Premium Steak Range Revealed

Hailed as one of the most sought-after, premium meats in the world, the melt-in-the-mouth steak has a unique marbling and offers a delicately rich taste.

Often gracing menus of the worlds most luxurious restaurants, tucking into a Wagyu Steak at Londons Cut by Wolfgang Puck will cost an eye-watering £125.

Aldis Specially Selected Chateaubriand is a high-quality boneless cut of beef, perfectly prepared to be roasted or grilled.

Where Does Aldi Meat Come From

As we have covered, Aldi sources its meats from some surprising places.

In the case of Aldis beef, that includes local or regional cattle farms. Yes, thats right: the steaks or ground beef you buy from Aldi likely came from a farm not too far from your house.

Not only is this a boon for small-to-midsize cattle farmers, its a practice that is great for the environment .

Much of Aldis chicken products are actually the exact same as Tyson chicken! Thats right, youre paying less at Aldi under the Kirkwood label to get the same chicken that was raised and processed via the brand Tyson.

This also means that if you have ever had an issue with Aldis Kirkwood chicken, you were having an issue with Tyson.

Aldi does source some of its meat internationally, including its grass-fed all-organic ground beef, but any meat that comes from a country other than the US must declare its origins on the packaging.

How To Make Carne Asada Tacos

Step 1: Marinate the carne asada for 30 minutes to 4 hours and then let the meat come to room temperature. Heat your grill on high heat and brush some olive oil over the grates to keep the meat from sticking. Then cook the meat for a few minutes on each side. The great thing about Carne Asada is that the meat is cut thin so it will cook through quickly. Take the meat off of the grill once you have achieved the desired doneness and let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting it into small pieces for the tacos.

Step 2: Warm tortillas over a stove burner.

Step 3: Add carne asada on top of each tortilla.

Step 4: Top with some guacamole.

Step 5: Top with a homemade Pico de Gallo. To make Pico de Gallo, simply dice the 3 Roma tomatoes, ½ onion, 1 jalapeño, ½ cup of cilantro, ¼ cup of lime juice, a big pinch of salt, and mix together. The fantastic produce that I found at ALDI really made this salsa shine.

Step 6: Finish off the carne asada street tacos with shredded cheese.

Did I Answer Everything You Wanted To Know About Where Does Aldi Beef Comes From

In this article, we talked about Aldi beef and where Aldis meat comes from.

We also talked about how Aldis meat is so cheap due to local sourcing and hiring limited staff. Also, they are able to save on transportation costs.

We also talked about Aldi meat quality and that they sell USDA beef, mostly of Choice grade. We also learned about other USDA meat grades and compared grass-fed beef to grain-fed beef.

But on the parting note, I have a question for you will you like to buy beef from Aldi?

Getting The Fire Started

The best way to get a grill started is using a chimney starter.

If you dont have one, lighter fluid alternatives that are generally available around the house are cardboard egg crates, newspaper , any high proof alcohol, and it is a known fact that all crisps work for starting a fire. So layer in some Doritos or potato crisps in with your charcoal. They are slow burning, so they get your coals going in no time.

What Argentine Treats Would I Choose

A gorgeous array of grilled meats are at the very heart of Argentine cuisine. The barbecue, or asado, is always on the go with fine cuts of steak, ribs, sausages and sweetbreads.

And lets not forget the tasty South American riff on the humble pasty empanadas. They can be sweet or savoury, deep-fried or baked. But the main thing is theyre a cheap and portable snack perfect for munching on during a football match.

So I thought an easy spin on empanadas using ready-rolled pastry with a spicy and comforting filling would be the perfect thing to kick proceedings off with. I opted for puff pastry for a bit of a fun take, but shortcrust is more traditional.

I followed these up with magnificent griddled rump steaks topped with fresh and delicious chimichurri a wonderful punchy green salsa made with parsley, oregano, onion, garlic and chilli.

I knew all of the ingredients I would need would be at my local Aldi, as I know the ranges really well shopping there every week.

Next Look At The Color Of The Meat

NGAKAK!!PRANK SHOLAWAT GUS ALDI SULTAN BARAT !! PESEN STEAK ONTA GARUT!! || MALAYSIA REACTION

Grass-fed meat usually has a deeper red color with the marbling having a yellowish hue.

Grain-fed meat will be less red with a milky white or creamy colored marbling.

Be sure to make sure there are no brown spots on the surface of the steak, either.

Color is also a marker for the freshness of the meat as well at its age. Fresh meat will be a lighter shade of red after it is cut. Meat that has been in cold storage for a long time will be a darker shade of red.

Younger meat will be brighter colored than older meat. Darker meat comes from an older animal, meaning it will likely be a tougher cut.

Why Does Aldi Locally Source Their Beef

Aldi oversees its own distribution and is incredibly strategic about its supply chains.

This is for one simple reason the driving factor behind most every Aldi decision: it helps the grocery chain keep costs way down and in turn, pass those savings onto the customers.

Instead of having to coordinate the shipment of beef from fewer locations to their over 2,000 stores , Aldi keeps both costs, and fuel emissions, down by not having to transport it thousands of miles.

This also means they dont have to spend as much keeping massive amounts of beef cold while en route.

Does Aldi Sell Good Steaks

Succulent, tender steaks are naturally tender and juicy because of the marbling in each portion. The skillet, barbecue, or broiling allows your Black Angus Ribeye Steak to become the best youve ever had. At ALDI, fresh steaks and roasts are packed in vacuum-sealed leakproof packs so theyre safe to eat.

And if youre looking for a nice bottle of red wine to match with your steak, Id go for the Argentinian Malbec at £5.99 a bottle its an absolute steal.

  • 2tspred wine vinegar
  • 221 day Matured British Rump Steaks
  • Pop the parsley, oregano, garlic and spring onion into a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.

  • Add the chilli, lemon juice and red wine vinegar and pulse again until it becomes the consistency of mint sauce. Pop into a pot and set aside.

Which Supermarket Has The Best Quality Meat

There are tons of supermarkets out there, so this article is going to focus on a handful of well-known supermarkets.

When shopping for meat, you should look for good marbling and nice red color with no brown spots.

Another factor in the quality of meat is whether the cow is given growth hormones or antibiotics. Animals fed right and treated humanely are not just for marketing. They make for better tasting, healthier meat. As a bonus, you can feel good that the cow lived its best life before it landed on your plate.

Where Does Aldi Get Their Chicken

Aldi gets its chicken from Tyson Foods. This chicken sells under the brand Kirkwood, and it includes breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks, among others.

Tyson Foods supplies Aldi with chicken, who then repackage it using their private label. Aldis Kirkwood chicken is Tysons chicken, with different names.

Why Is Aldi Meat So Cheap

NPC Equipped With ALDIs Armor Of Fortify Food Poisoning (LEGENDARY) | Oblivion NPC

One of the main reasons that Aldi meat is so cheap is that they dont sell name-brand products. Also, they source meat locally and are able to save on transport-related expenses. Lastly, they do not have in-house butchers, so lower labor costs mean lower prices.

So Aldi just sells brands youve never heard of before.

It doesnt mean the quality is any less. It just means that they can sell you a quality product at a lower price. But, you will see some of the same meat products sold at Aldi at Walmart too. .

Low staffing also has a role in the low prices youll see at Aldi. No, this isnt directly meat-related, but it explains the low prices youll find, generally.

Because Aldi only has between 6-8 employees working at one time, and no in-house butchers, they spend less on wages, which means they can pass some savings on to customers.

You may not have a manager at your disposal, but you will fill your buggy for less money.

Aldi is committed to sourcing locally. Again, they pass those savings along to the consumer.

They have limited supply. They advertise their fresh meat specials two weeks in advance, and when they are out, they are out.

This means that they are not throwing away as much food as other grocery stores.

This is a Specialbuy for the steak-lovers out there!

Aldi is no stranger to sending shoppers into a frenzy with its bargain buys and now they’re bringing back the popular Tomahawk steak…

Whether it’s Aldi Champagne , gin or wine you love, there’s no denying they’ve got a brilliant selection of cheap booze.

Shoppers also go wild for the supermarket’s beauty buys and when news broke that there was a two box limit on halloumi fries last year, people nearly lost their minds!

The supermarket often re-stocks or brings back popular items to satisfy customer demand and the tomahawk steak is the latest example of this.

After telling The Sun that last year’s deal would not be returning this year, the retailer has made a U-turn following this week’s Lidl’s announcement that they would were launching a similar deal.

However, we’ll have a while to wait as it will only be available on August 22.

The Tomahawk steak is perfect for sharing with a large group of friends and would be delicious barbecued weather permitting of course…

It’s also cheaper than Lidl’s deal, which retails at £14.99 per kg after returning to shops yesterday.

As with all of Aldi’s Specialbuys, it’ll be available while stocks last and once they’re gone they’re gone.
