About Our Chef: Michael Mina
Born in Cairo, Egypt, and raised in Ellensburg, Washington, Chef Michael Mina has enjoyed a love affair with the kitchen, creating memorable dining experiences for guests from a very early age.
Chef Minas epicurean journey began in 1987 at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. During those 18 months of formal schooling, he spent his weekends sharpening his natural talents with hands-on experience in Charlie Palmers kitchen at the upscale Aureole in New York City.
At the start of his career, Chef Mina was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime with then-executive chef of the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles, Chef George Morrone. The two were asked to develop a concept and create a menu for an upscale seafood restaurant in San Francisco the city Chef Mina had dreamed of calling home one day.
Welcomed to San Francisco by a major earthquake his second day in the city, he was unfazed and went to work immediately under Chef Georges direction. Chef Mina dedicated himself to creating a complete dining experience training the entire kitchen staff personally and refining the menu as chef de cuisine. AQUA opened to rave reviews and national acclaim in 1991. Chef Mina served as AQUAs executive chef from 1993 to 2002, where he was awarded Rising Star Chef of the Year in 1997 and Best California Chef in 2002 by the James Beard Foundation.

Steak Prepared In A Different Way
Steak, prepared in a different way, was excellent. The side dishes all had a bit of a yummy twist from the usual steakhouse sides. Staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive, which made for a great all-around dining experience. A bit noisy and crowded but for Las Vegas restaurant to be expected.

Very Good Experiencebut A Lot Of Food
While my steak was a bit tough and lack-luster, the other steaks on the table were great, especially the filet mignon. The fries that are brought to the table as a complimentary appetizer are delicious. The crab cake appetizer wasnt worth the money. Try to stick with just the entree, or, like us, youll be leaving a ton of food behind and we LOVE to eat.

Bodega Taqueria Y Tequila
Sometimes nothing hits the spot like tasty tacos al pastor, thick burritos stuffed with refried beans and drizzled with red chili crema, cheesy quesadillas loaded with all your favorite fixings, and crispy, crunchy nachos piled high with meat and flavorful toppings. The good news is you can order all your favorite Mexican dishes from famed Miami Beach restaurant Bodega Taqueria y Tequila for delivery direct to your door, no third-party app needed.
You cant go wrong with any of their tacos . That said, we recommend you start your order with the housemade guacamole and chips, or the famous chili queso, made with a blend of melted Oaxaca, cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheeses. If youre craving something a little lighter and more refreshing, Bodegas ceviche de pescado is a great option. And if youre in the mood for something heartier that hits the spot, go for the surf and turf burrito, stuffed with grilled ribeye steak, grilled shrimp, Mexican rice, tomato, charred onion, fresh cilantro, and salsa rosada. Not a meat eater? No problem. The vegan pollo asado burrito is absolutely mindblowing, filled with refried beans, guacamole, pickled red onion, cilantro, Mexican rice, and crispy potato sticks. And for the ultimate accompaniment to your Netflix night in, theres Bodegas loaded carne asada nachos, heaped with grilled ribeye steak, chili queso, cotija cheese, chili crema, tomato, cilantro, and sliced jalapeno.

Had a great meal and all three of us ordered from the Miami Spice Prix Fixe menu. Great food and wonderful wine! Our server, Elodie, was wonderful! The food, service, and ambiance were top notch. Elodie recommended we order a side to go with our filet… the Brussels sprouts were the perfect accompaniment. So good! Highly recommend this Michael Mina restaurant!!

Bourbon Steak Miami Miami Spice Menu
I was invited to a preview tasting of the Miami Spice menu at Bourbon Steak Miami earlier this week. Miami Spice runs from August 1 through September and offers a $39 three course set menu. At places like Bourbon Steak it also represents a great value.
Two dozen media folks gathered in the private dining room, along with our wonderful hosts from the Turnberry
Isle Resort for a tasting of all the offerings. Have you ever wanted to go to a restaurant and order everything on the menu? We didnt have to. We were simply brought plate after glorious plate.
Appetizer choices include sweet corn and Maine lobster chowder The hand rolled angel hair, is served cacio e pepe, with butter, Pecorino cheese and black pepper. It is one of my favorite pasta dishes because it is so simple and still so flavorful. The version at Bourbon Steak was no
exception. The final appetizer option is a tempura squash blossom with Meyer lemon ricotta, basil and ratatouille. Next time I go I will get this, since it was served alongside the pasta, I was too busy stuffing noodles in my mouth to fully appreciate the squash blossom in all its fried goodness.
Just when I thought it impossible to eat more, we started with the
creamy, cheesy and over the top. I could eat that every day and never get sick of it.
As if there was room for another morsel of food in me, we were presented with dessert. Pineapple upside down cake is not something I would choose, and yet. Candied ginger, pound cake
Caf La Trova Little Havana
This is yet another MICHELIN Guide recommended restaurant on this list. Truly the best of the best! The lively Café La Trova will be offering a three-course $45 dinner for Miami Spice attendees to try the Cuban restaurant, with options like ropa vieja, chicken fricassee, octopus, plantain & coconut crusted shrimp, fried calamari, whole fried snapper, grass fed ribeye, braised oxtail, lechon asado, picadillo de carne and vegan picadillo, and more.

Great Food High Price Tag Too Casual
The hostess did not have my reservation on file. I received e-mail confirmation from lasvegasrestaurants.com that my 6pm reservation had indeed been received, so I was quite displeased since this was a big family outing. We were also surprised to find that the dress code was nothing like we expected but there were people that appeared to have just walked in from the pool. It kind of kills the ambience when you have a very fancily, modern decorated restaurant with dim lighting and people sitting around with shorts, t-shirts and whatnot and your entire family has their Sunday best on. We expected a high-end restaurant with a dress code, we got a high-end restaurant with no such thing. The food is amazing, dont get me wrong but I will know from now on to call and ask if a place has a dress code before booking, because you cant always take what a website says at face value.

Taste Of The Town: Spice Up Your Summer At Bourbon Steak As Part Of Miami Spice
MIAMI – It is time for South Florida foodies to rejoice with the return of Miami Spice presented by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.
During the annual two-month event, many of South Florida’s higher end restaurant offer discounted, fixed-price three course meals.
One of the many participating restaurants is Bourbon Steak, James Beard award-winning chef Michael Mina’s modern American steakhouse at JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa.
The Aventura restaurant, which has been popular for locals and tourists alike for 12 years is designed by renowned interior designer Tony Chi.
The vibe is stylish, upscale, and modern.
“It’s such a beautiful restaurant when you first walk and you see the mirrors along the wall. The beautiful bar seats about 25 people and has a casual element as well as a lounge. Then we have two private rooms,” said executive chef Gabriel Fenton.
The wine selection is massive, offering more than 850 select wines. Guests can get a more casual menu at the bar or the full menu.
CBS4 cameras were before the restaurant opened and it was empty, but Bourbon Steak gets booked.
“The main dining rooms seat about 180 and then we can do it with 2 turns and serve about 350 covers on a busy Saturday night,” Chef explained.
Starting now, Bourbon Steak is about to get busier with the return of Miami Spice.
“So it’s three appetizers, three entrées, and three desserts.”
“So, we have some crispy bacon, sifted egg yolk, blue cheese, and red onion,” said Fenton.
