  • Reviews For The Best Steak House

No surprise why this place is still open since before my childhood. Being an adult now and craving this place is expected. Love the shrimp and chicken plate with tips potatoes but no worry, they specify that for sure. Recommended!!

Why would anyone eat at this dump? It looks nasty from the front of the building and not to mention, the inside seating area is filthy. The only reason I’m writing this review is because my little brother delivers to this business and he sent me this video of the kitchen area. Look closely and you can see the roaches on the floor

This is the unique gem of Grand Center. Set up as Cafeteria style, you place your order as soon as you come in the door and select ssome sides from salads and desserts. The Best Steak House is no frills, but the food is good and the staff is friendly!

    Best Steakhouses In St Louis

  • Annie Gunns
  • The first steakhouse on our list is Annie Gunns! Their Annual Cigar Smoker Dinner is one of the many reasons why I love this particular steakhouse. Premium cigars are presented and enjoyed coupled with fine wines and some of the most terrific food I have ever tasted.

Look for Annie Gunns right on Chesterfield Airport Road, right across the street from the Chesterfield Outlets shopping mall and Topgolf. Perfect for a delicious steak dinner in St Louis.

For those of you that like surf n turf, youll love Annie Gunns Shore Dinner. Its fried to a crispy perfection like no other.

The next one on my list is the 801 Chophouse. This steakhouse is located near the Clayton Business District, which makes it a top destination. With an award-winning wine list and some of the finest USDA prime steak in town, 801 Chophouse should be on every steak lovers list of top destinations.

If you have ever wanted to feel like youre eating in a high-end steakhouse in 1920s New York, you have two options: you can go to New York, or you can come down to St. Louis, Missouri, and try out the 801 Chophouse! The filet mignon is superb as is the 36 oz. Porterhouse.

    Parisian Pastries: La Patisserie Chouquette

The Five Best Steakhouses in St. Louis

It only makes sense that city with French roots should have French pastry shops. The folks at La Patisserie Chouquette serve up a mix of French classics, like the pain au chocolat and canele, plus mountains of their own French-inspired creations. Their Darkness croissant, made with chocolate butter and chocolate dough, and filled with chocolate, is famous nationwide. Their macaron offerings range from the delicate Cream Earl Grey to wild flavors like Horchata Rum, Bey and Funnel Cake. If youre looking for something more substantial, their custom cakes are literally edible art. You will almost certainly leave with more than you intended to buy, but hey, you only live once.

    Carb Heaven: Union Loafers

Union Loafers is a St. Louis staple in the making. Open for just over two years, this place has made a name for itself as not only the best bread bakery in town, by far, but also one of the finest sandwich shops west of the Mississippi and the home of the kings of pizza. If gluten is involved, Loafers is where you want to be. The bread sought after by diners and by St. Louis best restaurants alike is pure perfection. Go for a loaf of their famous Light & Mild, their enormous Bavarian pretzel or, if youre looking for something more casual, their cheesy bread. The 18-inch New York-style pizzas are what will change your life, though. The surprise favorite is the spinach , a hearty pie topped with bacon lardons, garlic and lemon. Dont forget to order extra buttermilk sauce to dip the crust in.

    Cheap Eats: Carl’s Drive In

Since 1959, Carls Drive-In has been the spot for a quick burger, fries and a tall, cold glass of root beer, and the best part is that prices havent changed much since then! Seriously, where else can you get a triple cheeseburger for under $6? Granted, Carls is home to the thinnest, crispiest patties in the world, but its still quite the deal. Add to that a basket of onion rings for $1.75 and a 24-ounce mug of root beer for another $1.75 and youve got yourself a meal that will keep you full for a day. If your time in St. Louis is limited, just swing by for a single patty and small root beer , then head on to your real lunch. Youll have room.

    Cocktail Bar: Planter’s House

Ted Kilgore is St. Louis best-kept secret. He is unarguably the person who brought the craft cocktail movement to St. Louis over a decade ago, and hes shown no signs of slowing down. From the day that Planters House opened, it has been the citys top cocktail bar, with a mix of classics and inventive creations. It even has a menu of its own “new classics,” drinks that have been so popular that theres no reason for them to go away. It does have a full food menu, as well, to help soak up some of what youre throwing down. Insiders tip: The main bar area is great, but to truly experience Planters House, slip upstairs to the intimate, 1950s-style Bullock Room.

    Ruths Chris Steak House

Hyatt Hotel, 315 Chestnut St, St. Louis, MO 63102Phone: 314-259-3200

Ruths Chris Steak House has one of the richest varieties of food to choose from that I encountered during my stay in St. Louis. The hospitality of the staff is exemplary, and the chefs are truly inspired.

The petite filet with shrimp was my absolute favorite meal here. You get two perfectly cooked 4 oz. Medallions with six large juicy shrimp. If you have room for it, youll also want to try the 22 oz. Cowboy Ribeye, a prime cut that is out of this world!

I admit I was hesitant to put this one on the list because I almost wanted to keep it to myself. This place is one of the best-kept secrets in St. Louis, but the food is so good, I just had to share it.

Sams Steakhouse is one of the finest St Louis steak restaurants that I encountered in my travels throughout this exciting and flavorful city. As soon as I drove up to the place I had a feeling that I was in for a treat, and was I ever!

Starting off with Lobster Bisque with Lobster Tempura was the perfect beginning to a long and enjoyable meal. I finished up with their Center-Cut Filet Mignon. For dessert, I tried the Caramel Bread Pudding and would say that it was one of the best-tasting desserts Ive had the pleasure of sampling in many years.

Theyre located inside The Plaza & Shoppes shopping center, just south of Kirkland Commons on South Lindbergh Boulevard.

Founded By The Kreis Family In 1948

The establishment began as a small roadhouse restaurant in the countryside. Mrs. Kreis home cooking soon became the favorite among those traveling along Highway 67. The Kreis family operated Kreis’ until their retirement in the 1960s.

They offered to lease Kreis’ to Jack Kane, their country club manager, while retaining ownership. He successfully ran and enhanced the business, introducting the enormous portion of Prime Rib of Beef, a signature dish which the restaurant still prides itself on.

Kreis’ served as a comfortable and familiar gathering place. The consistency and quality of Kreis ensured generations of loyal clientele. Helen Kane remained operator until the Kreis family decided to sell the business and property to the Tompras brothers in 1983.

The combination of Byrons expertise and knowledge of the food industry and Tykes managerial skills were the keys to Kreis success. In 1984, a fire burned a large portion of the restaurant. Kreis’ used this opportunity to rebuild, expand, and bring the kitchen up to the restaurant level. This accommodated the booming business Kreis’ was experiencing.

Since 1990, Byrons two children, George Tompras and Renee Tompras Bogdanos have operated Kreis’, expanding the menu to keep pace with modern demands while adhering to the tradition for quality, consistency, service, and innovation that made Kreis famous.

Hamiltons Urban Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar

Six St. Louis Steak `n Shake restaurants temporarily close

2101 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103Phone: 314-241-2333

Hamiltons Urban Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar is a special place. They really appreciate the connection between bourbon and steakhouses. Youll find no shortage of fine bourbons here, and the steaks are very flavorful.

With excellent bourbons like Old Forester Signature and Bowman Brothers Small Batch, theres something for everyone here. Of course, you could always have an ice-cold beer or a glass of wine instead.

The Kansas City Strip is a great value for the price. Nothing compares to the incredible flavor of this spectacular meal. The ribeye at Hamiltons Urban Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar was also good here. Try it for yourself!

Last but not least on my list of the best steakhouses in St. Louis, Missouri, is the Twisted Tree Steakhouse. Meet casual dining with a fancy twist, thats the Twisted Tree Steakhouse in a nutshell, and I love it!

The toasted brisket ravioli was better than I ever could have expected, as was the twisted shrimp and the NY Strip. When I came back for more, I had the Hog Chop, a 14 oz. piece of heaven cooked in a maple syrup reduction. The sauerkraut paired with it beautifully. This place is definitely one of the best steakhouses in the city.

When it comes to where to get steak in St. Louis, Missouri, you have to give Citizen Kanes Steak House a try. I did, and I loved it! Who knew that one of the best steakhouses in St. Louis was in a Victorian-styled home turned restaurant?

This family-owned establishment even has its own steak seasoning, one that I would highly recommend! While everything I ate there was good, the one entree that stood out to me was their Ribeye Delmonico.

If youre in St. Louis, and youre looking for a steak that will make your mouth water, pull up to Citizen Kanes Steak House off of West Clinton Place, just north of The Magic House St. Louis Childrens Museum.
