However the service was excellent. The Birthday Queen looked so beautiful. Today was her birthday so she deserves a birthday meal. Thank you for the food and the service that you provide us. When a kitchen fire destroyed Chris Steak House in 1976, Ruth was forced to relocate the restaurant to stay in business. But the Chris Steak House name wasn’t allowed to move with it. Service is always on point. From the greeting you get when you went to the restaurant to sitting at the bar ordering a drink. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Wait staff is impeccable and accommodated.
Food and the ambience are amazing. Steak is cooked exactly how you lik , needs no steal sauce since its already made with love and care. The sides sich as the lobster mac and cheese , au gratin , cremed spinach are all amazingly delicious. The staff are amazing conversationalists , kind and hard working. The drinks are delicious and the red wine paired with whatever steak you order will do justice. Definitely one of my favorite and best steakhouses i ever dined in.

It All Started In New Orleans
In 1965, Ruth Fertel, a single mom looking for an opportunity, saw a steak house for sale in the classifieds. She didn’t know much about restaurants or steak, but she took a chance and mortgaged her home to buy Chris Steak House. Ruth mastered all the ins and outs herself, from butchering and broiling steak perfectly to serving guests. From the opening day, the special sizzle she created was a huge local success. And 50 years later, that tradition continues.

The Ruths Chris Steak House chain is expanding its Long Island presence with two new restaurants in Melville and Lake Grove.
The chain, owned by publicly traded, Winter Park, Fla.-based Ruths Hospitality Group, will open an 11,000-square-foot restaurant at 881 Walt Whitman Road in Melville. The space was formerly occupied by Bertuccis, which closed in the spring of 2019.
Ruths Chris will also be opening a 6,500-square-foot restaurant at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.
Both the Melville and Smith Haven Mall locations are currently under construction and expected to open before the end of November.
The new restaurants are the chains second and third on Long Island. Ruths Chris original Long Island location at 600 Old Country Road in Garden City was formerly owned by a franchisee but is now corporate owned.
Jeremy Isaacs of RIPCO Real Estate represented New Jersey-based landlord Lerner Grobman in the Melville lease and represented Ruths Chris in the Smith Haven Mall lease.
