Making marinades in advance is a great way to meal prep. Most marinades can be made several days in advance and stored in airtight containers or mason jars in the refrigerator. If you really want to plan ahead, make several batches of marinade at once and portion them into gallon-sized bags. Freeze the marinade for up to six months, thawing the bag in the refrigerator before using.

Can You Make These Steaks Into Shish Kabobs

Best Steak Marinade in Existence (?) Recipe

Yes! Sirloin is one of the best cuts of steak for making shish kabobs. When using this marinade to make kabobs, I recommend cubing the steak, then adding it to the marinade. This means, more of the steak surface area gets to soak up the delicious marinade.

After marinating the cubes of steak for at least 20 minutes, skewer the steak by itself or with veggies like bell peppers and onions. Grill the steak shish kabobs over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes, flip and continue grilling for an additional 4-5 minutes.

What To Do With Extra Marinade

If you are planning to recycle the marinade, Id recommend boiling it for about 10 minutes after you use it then cool it completely in refrigerator before the next use. Youll likely lose some flavour, but it should still be delicious.

If you mixed the marinade in a bowl and reserved half of it , then you can use it for other purposes such as a salad dressing or sauce for other dishes. Ive even used leftover marinade in stir fries before!

How To Make It

Making this marinade is SO simple! Its simply a matter of whisking together the marinade ingredients and adding the steak. Lets take a quick look:

  • Combine ingredients. I like to whisk the marinade together in a large glass measuring cup or mixing bowl.
  • Add steaks. Place steaks in a large, ziploc bag and pour marinade over the top. Close securely.
  • I recommend a minimum of 1 hour although 30 minutes is sufficient for less lean cuts of steak. Marinate for up to 8 hours.

Do You Need To Wash Marinade Off Before Cooking Why

If youre using a marinade to cook seafood, its important to wash it off before cooking. Not only is the marinade bad for your seafood, but it can also make your food tough and rubbery. If youre cooking with a sauce or marinade, its important to wash it off before eating. Not only will that save you time and cleanliness, but also your sauce will have a fresher taste.

    How To Grill Sirloin Steaks

Once the steaks are marinated, I highly recommend cooking them on a grill for the best flavor. To grill the perfect sirloin steak, follow these simple steps.

  • Heat a grill over medium high heat, between 350-400 degrees Fahrenheit. Wait until the grill is hot before adding the steaks, to give them perfect sear marks.
  • Remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the marinade. Add the steaks to a hot grill.
  • For a perfect medium rare steak, grill a 1 inch thick steak for 4-5 minutes per side. For a steak that is 1 1/2 inches thick, add 1-2 minutes to the cooking time per side.
  • Insert an instant read thermometer into the steak. Remove the steak once it reads 130°F for a medium rare steak. For a medium steak, wait until it reaches 140°F and for a medium well steak, wait until it reaches 150°F.
  • Quick tip! A steak will rise approximately 5 degrees after you remove it from the grill and let it rest.
  • Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This ensures that the juices redistribute throughout the steak, leaving you with the most juicy steak!
  • Sprinkle coarse kosher salt or sea salt flakes over the steak and optionally garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Favorite Veggies To Grill With Steak

    • Tomatoes and green beans: This is my favorite combo. Just place in foil, drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Then fold up sides and cook for about 15 minutes.
    • Corn: Grill your corn by wrapping in foil and cook for 10 minutes, turning occasionally. To elevate your corn, try making Mexican street corn or easy corn salad.
    • Asparagus: Coat asparagus with oil and salt and pepper to taste. Grill on high for 2-3 minutes. I like my asparagus a little crunchy, but grill for 1-2 more minutes if you prefer softer.
    • Zucchini: I like to grill my zucchini in spears. Brush with olive oil and salt and pepper then grill until beginning to char, about 3-4 minutes each side.
    • Baked potato: Poke holes into the potato with a fork, then brush olive oil on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Wrap in foil and grill for about an hour, turning the potatoes constantly.

How Do You Soak Your Marinading Steak

You can place your steak in a bag with the marinade. Then every little bit you can go and grab the bag and massage the meat to really help infuse the marinade into the steak more to give your steak the best chance of those rich flavors soaking in. Or if you want you can use an airtight container.

For anyone curious, I massage my steak about once an hour when I am marinading it.

How Can I Tell When The Flank Steak Is Done

For a tough cut like flank steak, its best to cook it to rare or medium-rare for maximum tenderness. DO NOT cook it beyond medium.

The best way to measure the doneness is by inserting an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of the steak. Remove the steak from the heat when its 5°F or 3°C below the target temperature, as the temperature will rise several degrees more while resting. For example, if you target medium-rare, remove the steak from the grill when the thermometer reads 130°F , as the final temperature will reach 135°F during resting.

Let it rest covered with aluminum foil for 5-10 minutes, allowing the juices to flow back in.

    Return And Refund Policies

It is essential that an online retail shop, which you are looking to patronize, has an established process for requesting refunds on purchases. Its important for the online merchant to disclose how returns are made clearly, and if there is any possibility of eliminating associated costs.

In most cases, online purchases grant you protection because we cant check the condition of the items before you take them. So, ensuring you can get a refund when youre uncertain about whether the products youve acquired will be the same as you expected can give you peace of mind.

    How Long To Marinade

As little as 20 to 30 minutes will transfer lots of taste to your steaks. I like to get a few hours if I have time. Please refrigerate for food safety.

Up to 8 hours is fine, and some recommend up to 24 hours. But due to the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce with vinegar, it can affect the texture if marinaded for over 8 hours.

What Steak Cut Is Best For Marinating

What cuts of beef to use a marinade on is a matter of personal preference and the recipe youre making.

Generally, marinades should be used on tougher cuts of beef from hard-working muscle groups, like flank, hanger and skirt steak.

If youre cooking a high-quality, flavorful cut of beef like a ribeye steak, we recommend not marinating it so that the beefs natural flavor can shine. However, if you want to use a marinade on a ribeye or filet, you can. Its entirely up to you.

Should You Marinate Steak In Fridge

If youre looking to cook steak in a fridge, there are a few things youll need to think about first. The first is how much time the steak will be in the fridge: If its short-term, like 3-4 hours, then it wont require marinating. But if its going to be in the fridge for a week or more, then youll want to make sure that its properly cooked by prepping it with spices and then cooking it over medium-high heat on an ovenproof pan.

    What You Need

    • 6 cloves garlic, smashed and coarsely chopped
    • 15 sprigs fresh thyme leaves

In a mixing bowl, combine oil, garlic, and thyme. Add steaks, making sure to completely coat. Cover dish and refrigerate at least 1 hour or as long as overnight. Turn steaks a few times if marinating overnight.

Prepare grill, lightly oiling grates. Remove steak from marinade and season with salt and pepper, discarding marinade. Place steak on grill, and cover, turning once, until meat is desired doneness .

The answer to this question is a difficult one. Some people swear by the benefits of marinating steak, while others find that it does nothing but make the meat go bad. If youre looking to improve the flavor of your steak, some people might find it helpful to marinate it in a variety of flavors. However, many people find that there is no point to doing this because the meat will still be dry and tough when they finally serve it.
