Hospitality is the foundation of Tonys Steaks & Seafood. Owner Tony Ricci has added a modern twist to the classic American steakhouse by offering fresh, contemporary fare. With an expansive and diverse wine list, unparalleled award-winning service, and welcoming ambiance, it is a restaurant unlike any other in Greater Cincinnati.
Ricci opened his restaurant in May of 2010 with the vision of being about more than just steaks. He wanted to create his own version of Cheers, the venerable bar from the hit TV show, where his guests could enjoy fantastic food at a reasonable price.
I was born in Molise, Italy. There, the importance of hospitality was imbedded in me through the culture, Ricci says. I was lucky… I knew early on that my place in life was to serve great food. Ever since coming to the United States from Italy as a young boy I knew. Being in my mothers kitchen and experiencing the satisfaction she got in serving others made me realize this was where I was happiest. Whether it was homemade ravioli, delightful cannoli desserts or a succulent leg of lamb I was hooked.
Walking into Tonys is like walking into the home of a family member or good friend where you are promptly greeted with a warm welcome and a smile whether you are a regular or a first-time guest. As an owner-operated restaurant, it isnt uncommon to find Ricci personally checking in on his guests to ensure they are taken care of.
Hats Off To Tony Ricci And His Exceptional Team
General Manager Michael Morgan spoke with us about what makes their team unique from the neighboring businesses.
We have stayed true to what we do, Morgan said. Were not going to cut corners on anything, and if the product isnt good, wed rather say were sorry but its not up to our standards than try to push out a mediocre product.
Another point that Morgan emphasized is that they treat their staff like they do their patronslike theyre members of their own family. Which is one of the reasons why theyve retained such exceptional team members throughout the pandemic and the challenging months that proceeded.
When weve had enough for one night and the team has worked hard and given their best, we dont want to choke on the tail at the end of the night, so when weve had enough for one nightweve had enough, Morgan said. Were not going to push our staff as far as we can and compromise the integrity of service or food. Other restaurants would say, Oh, theyre still coming in and fill more tables, and thats when mistakes happen, and the experience isnt what it should be.
For those who have attended previous wine-pairing events with us, we do not have to sell you on the delectable dishes and superb wines that are served, nor do we have to explain the incomparable service provided by Morgan and his team. One does not need to attend one of these fundraising dinners to receive that level of service and attention to detailthese are simply the Tonys standard!

Upscale Tony’s Steakhouse Coming To The Hub
Tonys, a steak-and-seafood restaurant, has been open since 2015 in Lexington.
Bowling Greens upscale The Hub development on Lovers Lane is adding an upscale restaurant.
Tonys, a steak-and-seafood eatery with locations in Cincinnati, Lexington and Indianapolis, will move into the 6,000-square-foot restaurant space in the Embassy Suites hotel now being built as The Hubs centerpiece.
The restaurant, which has a menu that includes a $78 porterhouse steak and a $49 Chilean sea bass, is viewed by The Hub developer David Chandler as the perfect addition to a 103-acre community that will eventually include more than 800 high-end apartments along with commercial parcels and other amenities.
This is just a fantastic addition to The Hub, to Embassy Suites and to the city of Bowling Green, Chandler said. Itll certainly be an upper-end restaurant, but it will still be affordable.
Tonys was started in 2010 in Cincinnati by Tony Ricci, an Italian immigrant who opened the Lexington location in 2015 and the Indianapolis site in 2018.
Chandler said Tonys is a brand already familiar to many in Bowling Green.
He has a huge following, Chandler said. A lot of people from Bowling Green have eaten at his restaurant that is in downtown Lexington near Rupp Arena.
Although it is the same brand and will have many of the same menu options as the other three locations, the Bowling Green Tonys will come with some differences.

An Invaluable Community Partnership To The Carmel Community
The previous dinners of this quarterly series were sellouts and an astounding success for the CCPL Foundation. Ricci donates the cost, including food, wine and venue, so that the foundation retains all of the proceeds generated from these dinners.
Programming and resources such as those offered by CCPL are made possible through the generosity of its donors and supporters like Ricci and his staff.

Standards abound at downtowns latest chophouse franchise with roots in Cincinnati and Lexington. Elegantly presented oysters, mussels, and calamari tossed with pepperoncini and cherry tomatoes top a list of mostly seafood appetizers, but dont miss what has to be one of the citys biggest crab cakes, mounded on a swath of tangy mustard aioli. A special seasoning blend of paprika, sea salt, and pepper means New York strips and bone-in prime ribeyes have an especially flavorful char while being perfectly lush and tender inside. Yet seafood offerings are just as respectable, especially Chilean sea bass sauced with a maple-sage emulsion and served with al dente barley, caramelized onions, and shaved Brussels sprouts. The brick-lined, above-street bar in the former home of Colts Grille now serves up fish tacos, stuffed burgers, and truffle potato wedges in urban-chic environs.
