How To Choose The Best Beef Grade

When it comes to grilling a perfect steak, the type and grade of beef play an important role in the final product.

If you want to cook the highest quality grade, then U.S. Prime is the one. It is the 2% and it usually what fancy and upper-end restaurant use for their menu. Just as you though, this grade of beef is pretty expensive and you probably will not pay for that price for a home-cooked meal.

After U.S. Prime, you have the Choice category. It is the most common one and half of all beef falls into this category. It is kind-of medium quality beef and most of the people are satisfied with the quality-price ratio.

After that, you have the Select grade. The beef in this category can be considered as OK. It is the lowest grade, less juicy and tender than the other two grades and is commonly sold at retail.

You are free to pick what grade you feel comfortable with. I mostly use Choice or the medium-quality grade. It is very good quality for the price, its very common in most of the market and its marbling can be quite variable.

As for the thickness, usually most recommend a 1 ½ inch thick. I think that is a bit much. Try to aim for 1 inch cuts. I think that is the ideal thickens, not too thin and the steak have meaty center, ideal for grilling.

Preparing The Spare Ribs To Cook Pork Spare Ribs

Before you start prepping your ribs, make sure to take the time to thaw them. This will help give them a more tender and moist texture. You can keep them in the fridge until theyre ready to be cooked, or you can use this time to marinate them. How Long To Cook Pork Spare Ribs?

For your marinade, youll need some salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. If you want to get adventurous with your marinade, toss in some of your favorite spices like ginger or cayenne pepper!

To get started with prepping your ribs, cut off the end of the rib rack where the meat starts getting thin. The fatty end of the rack is better for grilling or can be used for other dishes that call for ground pork.

Next, remove the membrane on the backside of the ribs by using a sharp knife and sliding it under while peeling it off slowly. Now you have all these delicious bones exposed! Give these a good rinse to be nice and clean before cooking.

Likewise, heating the spareribs before barbecuing will give delicate outcomes. In any case, for some grill aficionados, ribs that are delicate, skirting on soft, are for the most part something awful. Exemplary grill spareribs ought to have some delicacy, yet the ribs should in any case have an energetic bite. Boiling can cook this surface out.

    How To Grill Steak Perfectly:

First you are going to want to pick your cut of meat. Now, everyone loves a good filet mignon, I am not exception. The other go-to is a New York Strip classic. But, my absolute favorite is a ribeye. There is just enough fat marbled through it that it marinates itself as it cooks and stays incredibly moist and tender. The flavor is amazing. It is my go-to. Go grab a 1 inch ribeye for you and whoever else you are having over..

But Filet Mignon is hard to beat!

Next, after you go out and grab your cut of meat, you are going to want to let it come to room temp before you season your meat. Just salt and pepper people. You dont need to reinvent the wheel. But first, take a fork and pierce the meat all over fat and everything. Then sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper on both sides enough that it will be nicely seasoned, but not over-powered with either.

You can also if you want always fun to mix things up!

After you have cleaned your grill thoroughly with your brush, spray it with a grill-worthy non-stick spray and then turn it up to 450-500.

Place steak over direct heat to sear let it stay over direct heat for 3-4 minutes. Flip and sear an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side. If you are cooking a fattier meat, like a ribeye, you will probably want to move the steak over to indirect heat at this time. Leaner meats, like a New York Strip or Filet should be left over direct heat the entire time.

    Internal Temperature Of The Steak

The other temperature that you need to figure out is the steaks internal temperature when you are cooking. This is where you will need a meat probe or a meat thermometer for the job.

Once you figure out the internal temperature of the meat, you will know what type of doneness it has achieved. I would recommend medium-rare for any steak which is 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you aim for medium doneness, the internal temperature of the steak should be 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Well-done doneness is at 145 degrees Fahrenheit but I do not recommend going that far.

Tip: It is more important to cook the steak based on the internal temperature rather than just the amount of time as the longevity of cooking steak relies on the thickness of the cut.

Another way to know the steaks doneness is the finger test where you press your middle finger against your thumb and press the base of the thumb and compare it to the steak.

If it matches, then the steak is medium-rare, check again by putting your ring finger against your thumb for medium-well, and then your pinky against your thumb for well-done.

While it is easy and convenient, I do not recommend testing the steaks doneness with this technique as it can be inconsistent.
