Whats The Ideal Thickness For A Ribeye Steak Cut
Premium steak cuts like ribeyes are best served with a thickness of 1.5 inches. This is the most optimal level of thickness when youre cooking ribeye at home. Thats because a 1.5-inch thick steaks center is more insulated compared to thinner ones, making it easier to achieve your desired level of doneness. Theyre also easier to cook compared to thicker steak cuts that range from 1.75 inches to 3 inches thick. These thicker cuts may need special techniques in order to be cooked evenly, so leave those cuts to the expert chefs.

Yelp/ Kathy H.
Many steakhouses use USDA prime steaks but what does that mean? To achieve that ranking, the steak needs to have the highest level of marbling, or intramuscular fat, and be from young cows. You might not be able to find USDA prime beef at your local supermarket, but some high-end stores and butcher shops would be a good place to check.
Been Almost A Year And App Still Unusable
When the Longhorn app was first introduced, I used it to try to pay for my check. Input all the information, and submitted payment, and even got a confirmation number, but server could not verify that payment was made. He got the manager involved, who even called their tech support, and could not figure it out. After a half hour of waiting, I also verified that the payment had not been charged to my card, so I paid again with a physical card. Now, many months later, I figured I would try it again. This time, I even tried to pre-populate my payment information, and the app fails to verify my card info, and also tells me that the logged in person doesnt match the card info . When that failed again for a second time, I decided to try to fill out the rest of my preferences. I went into settings, and tried to turn on FaceID, and the app instantly crashed! Tried a few more times, with the same result. Ok, giving up, but I should at least try to contact app support under the App Store, so selected the support link, and… it took me to a web page that would not load!Final last resort – leave this review… hopefully someone gets the hint!

They Elevate The Experience With Wine Pairings
You can elevate your steaks at home with the proper wine pairings. According to Kendall-Jackson vineyard and winery, filet mignon goes best with pinot noir, New York strip goes best with cabernet sauvignon, rib-eye goes best with zinfandel, porterhouse goes best with syrah, and skirt and flank go best with merlot and sauvignon blanc, depending on the final preparation and accompaniments.
Longhorn Steakhouse On Its Way To The Highlands
File PhotoLonghorn Steakhouse will occupy the property formerly home to Logans Roadhouse at The Highlands, Ohio County Development Authority officials said Tuesday.
Some additional sizzle is coming to restaurant options at The Highlands.
The Ohio County Development Authority on Tuesday night approved a leasing deal that will bring Longhorn Steakhouse to the development.
Longhorn Steakhouse will locate in the same lot that once housed Logans Roadhouse, which closed in February 2020. Texas Roadhouse and Fusion Japanese Steak House also are located at The Highlands.
Longhorn Steakhouse is owned by the Darden Group, which counts among its brands Olive Garden and Cheddars Scratch Kitchen, both of which can be found at The Highlands.
The Darden Group will come in and do a real nice redo and renovation of the property, said Ohio County Commission President Randy Wharton, also president of the OCDA.
The lease was announced following a 30-minute closed-door session. Details were not disclosed.
During the meetings regular session, Commissioner Zach Abraham requested a discussion about the master plan for The Highlands, and to allay some concerns about operations there.
He said he asked John Aderholt of Century Equity, leasing managers at The Highlands, to see if there were any consulting companies that could assist the OCDA to better position The Highlands for the future.

Longhorn Steakhouse Offered A Hotline To Help Amateur Grillers
When holidays such as Memorial Day and the Fourth of July roll around, Americans tend to head outdoors, fire up their barbecues and get grilling. Recognizing this annual tradition, LongHorn Steakhouse offered it assistance by providing a special hotline to serve up tips, techniques and advice to amateur grillers. Launched in 2013, the LongHorn Grill Us Hotline allowed the public to connect with “the restaurant’s certified Grill Masters.”
As LongHorn’s head of marketing John Fadool explained in a press release, LongHorn’s 30-plus years of experience, serving upwards of 650,000 steaks per week, “means we know a thing or two about grilling.”
The program proved to be successful, returning each year to offer grilling assistance. In 2018, the Austin-American Statesman offered some grill tips from John Dickey, one of the staffers manning the hotline. The first of these was, when grilling with charcoal, to not skimp on the briquettes since the ideal temperature to cook a steak is 550 degrees Fahrenheit if using a propane grill, Dickey advised turning it on 10 minutes before cooking so the grill had enough time to heat up to the desired temperature.

Longhorn Steakhouse Offers A Wide Variety Of Cuts
If there’s one thing that LongHorn knows how to deliver to its customers, it’s variety. In fact, LongHorn’s menu offers an impressive array of diverse cuts of meat, ranging from its signature Outlaw Ribeye to the savory Renegade Sirloin. Then there’s the LongHorn Porterhouse, which is described as “the biggest steak in the game,” a 22-ounce slab of beef that combines a bone-in strip and filet “into one thick cut.”
In addition to all those regular menu items, LongHorn Steakhouse also serves up some special-selection cuts on occasion. “Hand-selected for their one-of-a-kind marbling and textures, they’re prized possessions for any steak lover,” notes the chain’s website. These special cuts included a 14-ounce Delmonico described as “not just a steak” but “an event,” along with a 12-ounce New York strip and the six-ounce Flo’s Filet. “It’s tender, buttery and you won’t regret a single bite,” the LongHorn website promised of the latter.

Texas Roadhouse: The Steakhouse With Its Own Cult Following
While there are tons of restaurants that have their own devoted fans, not all of them are recognized by experts. Business Insider actually considers Texas Roadhouse to have the most loyal fans in the industry and its quite easy to see why.
Despite being more low-key than its competitors, the Texas Roadhouse continues to charm people by being so laidback. You dont get to see a lot of big chain restaurants to feel like its family-owned. From its actual restaurant to how it handles its people, this steakhouse can feel like its a local eatery to its regular patrons.
This may be hard to believe if youve never set foot in a Texas Roadhouse restaurant but its true. Theyre so laid-back that the servers will tell you to discard the peanut shells on the floor. Their social media channels are hilarious enough that you wont feel like they work from the corporate headquarters. Theyre also very in tune with their community and even commission murals to express their commitment to their local patrons.
Of course, people come for the food, too. Youll find lots of people all over the internet waxing poetics about their cinnamon butter and unlimited dinner rolls. Their steaks, chicken, and ribs will also make you come back for more.
Two, it might not be the best place for those with severe peanut allergies. As they give out a free bucket of peanuts to every table, their restaurants literally have peanuts all over the place.
How Do Restaurants Tenderize Their Steaks
Cutting crosswise against the grain or muscle fibers makes it easier for tenderizing. Skirt or flank steaks are excellent for grilling and may require much more than slicing against the grain. Using acidic ingredients like vinegar, or lemon juice breaks down tough proteins and add flavor to your beef cut.

That deep, dark, caramelized crust on steaks from great steakhouses? You can thank an infrared broiler for that. While some steakhouses still grill or griddle their steaks, many including Bobby Vans, The Palm Restaurants and Mortons use infrared broilers, which superheat large surfaces to an even temperature. Some steakhouses depend on these broilers to cook their steaks, and while they can be difficult to master, the end result is a steak with a nice crust.
What Steak Is The Most Tender
The tenderloin is, as its name implies, the most tender cut of beef. Those who do not prefer the marbling of the rib eye and strip loin will thoroughly enjoy the tenderloin. The top sirloin is a cut from the loin that offers good flavor in a thick cut ideal for grilling, broiling, sautéeing or pan-frying.

Employees Must Complete Extensive Training To Become A Longhorn Grill Master
Every LongHorn location has two or three employees who have completed the training to be considered “Grill Masters.” Once these grill chefs are certifiably ready to tackle any meat order, the best of the best can compete in a company-wide “Steak Master” competition. During the yearly contest, multiple “grill-off” rounds narrow 5000 Grill Masters down to seven for the final showdown. If you live near Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, congratulationsyour ribeye might have been seared by 2018 reigning champion Michelle Cerveney.

The Business Nearly Failed Before It Even Took Off
Reference for Business recalled that as the renovation was underway at the LongHorn Steaks Restaurant & Saloon, disaster struck when founder George McKerrow’s business partner and the funding vanished. “I found myself scrambling to get the restaurant open,” he said in an interview with Atlanta Business Chronicle. With no other options, McKerrow turned to his father for the money needed to complete the reno.
The decision to seek help from his dad proved to be an exceptionally good one. As McKerrow explained, his father not only became his investor, but also “a great partner for the last 25 years of his life,” and was “instrumental in helping us grow LongHorn into a national chain.”
Those early years of struggle were key for McKerrow, and taught him a valuable lesson that stayed with him during the decades that followed. “Tenacity played a big part of my early success,” he said. “I believed in myself and what I was doing. You can’t give up when things get tough and I had a fundamental belief in what I was doing was going to work no matter what the circumstances were.”

Whats Better Outback Or Longhorn
Outback Steakhouse and LongHorn Steakhouse are both popular steakhouse chain restaurants. The quality of the food at LongHorn was better, and I was especially impressed by the house margarita and the signature appetizer. However, the fantastic service at Outback set a sky-high bar that LongHorn fell far short of.
Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning Recipe
Provided by dlroos
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- Gather a medium-sized bowl, a gallon-sized plastic bag with a zip top, a pair of scissors and a spice jar with a shaker-type top. Measure out 2 tablespoons of Kosher salt and pour into the bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar. Standard white sugar can also be used. Measure 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, and turmeric. Add all seasonings to the bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon of paprika and chili powder to the bowl. Measure out 1 teaspoon of black pepper and add to the other spices in the bowl. Fresh ground, medium-sized pepper is best for this mix. Stir mixture gently to incorporate all ingredients. Pour seasonings into a gallon-sized plastic bag, then seal. Shake the seasonings together in the bag until the seasonings appear to be evenly blended. Cut an edge off of one of the bottom edges of the plastic bags at a diagonal. The cut should be small enough for the tip of the bag to easily fit into the empty spice jar. Empty spices from the bag into spice container.

Longhorn Steakhouse Revamped Its Shirley Temple After A Kid’s Lousy Review
Let it never be said that LongHorn Steakhouse doesn’t respond to the feedback offered by its customers. In 2019, a 6-year-old’s went viral when he critiqued the Shirley Temple he was served at a LongHorn Steakhouse. According to the kid identified by People as Leo Kelly the Shirley Temple was the tallest he’d ever had, but he had to diss the drink for containing not one single cherry.
In response, an from LongHorn Steakhouse trumpeted the news: the restaurant was altering its recipe, which was now “fit for ‘The King'” . The new Shirley Temple recipe upped the cherry game substantially by adding five cherries three on the bottom of the beverage, and another two on top, balanced atop the rim of the glass with a skewer.
“He’s been ordering Shirley Temples from the age of three and always commented on them,” the lad’s father, Tom Kelly, told People of his son’s burgeoning role as a Shirley Temple critic.
